ProCharter’s CEO Andy Fleming commented ‘Everyone involved in the supply, transportation, and handling of the equipment is working tirelessly to ensure the flights operate on schedule to combat the Corona Virus.’

ProCharter recently completed a series of cargo charter flights from Cologne-Bonn, Germany, to Banja Luka for the Republic Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina, to mitigate the effects of the COVID-19 virus pandemic. The 500-bed field hospital transported by ProCharter, manufactured by the German company Kleh Systems, and donated by Tehnički Remont Bratunac and Elvaco MetPro, two Bosnian Serb engineering companies owned by the locally raised entrepreneur CEO Slaven Ristic.

Critical Air Cargo On Schedule

The initial flights were met at Banja Luka airport by Government representative President, Milorad Dodik and philanthropist Slaven Ristic. Additional flights are scheduled to take place, transporting further elements of the field hospital, as well as much needed ventilators that have been procured in Russia. As the chosen and preferred charter service provider, ProCharter will be completing an additional series of flights during the coming weeks to further support this effort.

‘Rapid delivery of time-sensitive life support cargo can be the key to any mission success. ProCharter’s legacy in these environments allows us to anticipate operational challenges and swiftly react to customer needs.’

ProCharter Adopts Orphanage Charity

ProCharter Adopts Orphanage Charity

ProCharter’s CEO Andy Fleming commented ‘we are very happy to do our little bit to help these kids…’

ProCharter recently adopted The Abode Project orphanage charity in Uganda and funded a new set of sports kits for the disadvantaged kids. The Abode charity was founded in 2017 and its main aim is to help some of the poorest kids in Uganda gain a decent education. The charity has already funded a new school and is doing some fantastic work. Procharter’s CEO Andy Fleming commented ‘we are very happy to do our little bit to help these kids, Africa is a market we work in and have experienced first hand the hardships they endure on a daily basis, remarkably, often with a smile on their faces’

The Abode Project

‘When worlds collide at the most basic, instinctive and primal point of contact; amazing things happen, and the opportunity for exponential development ignites like an untameable wildfire.’

The Abode Project is a non-profit organisation born from the essential pillars of the house music community, sourcing funds via private and public donations along with raising money through the medium of hosting large-scale club events/festivals around the world.

In 2017 the charity built its first school and orphanage in the Kabale region of Uganda (predominantly know for being one of the poorest and unprivileged parts of Africa). Unfortunately, due to complications, the project collapsed, and it left a large number of orphans & students back at square one with no education or residence (many returning to their local communities 2-3 hours away with shattered dreams).

In November 2018, the charity returned to Kabale to visit a newly purchased plot of land with 39 eager volunteers. Among the volunteers were tradesmen and women, DJs, Promoters, Nurses, Artists, Photographers and Videographers. Some friends, some total strangers.

Throughout the eight-day period, those 39 volunteers became a very personal and emotional family; they worked harder than they even knew they were capable of at times for hours and hours on end with a no-nonsense attitude.

What was achieved in that space of time is something that has had an internal and external impact on everybody it has touched. An abandoned School, Orphanage, Outhouse and tired piece of land now shines brightly as a beacon of hope for an entire community and many generations to come. It is now home to The Abode Project School & Orphanage; a place of education, shelter, opportunity, security, humility and unity; a project that will continue to grow and expand into one of the poorest parts of an entire continent.

Several classrooms, dormitories, offices, a community hub where technological knowledge will be provided to help integrate these children into western society and give them a slice of the life we are so undeserving of in comparison, a music centre where children can nurture their talent for natural rhythm, the list goes on and on…

This is still the very beginning, but with the help of your compassion, affinity and funding we genuinely believe there is no limit to what we can achieve.

– Abode Project

This is still the very beginning, but with the help of your compassion, affinity and funding we genuinely believe there is no limit to what we can achieve.

For the price of a pint of beer or some new mascara you can feed an entire family in Kabale for a week, for as little as £20 a month you can pay for a child’s education and board at our school and orphanage. That’s the same price as a round of drinks on a night out that you probably can’t even remember anymore!

Who says the poorest of the poor can’t become scientists, doctors and more? Just because it hasn’t been done before doesn’t mean we can’t be the generation to open the door…

ProCharter has completed a test flight for one of its customers to a remote site airfield to prove the capability of the infrastructure on the ground and identify the most suitable aircraft to meet the requirement.

Faced with many challenges during the flight planning and operation, the ProCharter team worked tirelessly to prove and overcome all the obstacles and complete the flight.

Speaking from the ProCharter Dubai Office, Steve Day, Managing Director said; “ This was a great team effort involving our staff in Kuwait, Dubai, USA and UK, and is further evidence of our capability to operate to remote areas. This was the first flight of its kind to this airfield, and we are pleased our efforts were rewarded with the extremely smooth operation. Our customer is also really pleased, which is extremely important. We have developed significant experience in remote site operations, and this flight is another example of what we have achieved.”

Instrumental in the planning and successful operation was Anthony ‘Taff’ Wood, Operations Manager for ProCharter in Kuwait.  Taff remarked,

A multiagency airlift to a hostile environment is coordinated and planned over a period of months. The Operations team all played their part team in this mission which involved interface between two International Airports and an austere location with an extremely limited capability in aviation terms. Patience and Tenacity allowed the team to overcome all obstacles and receive great customer feedback.

ProCharter deployed a logistics team to Sri Lanka at the request of the United Nations MINUSMA mission to assist the Sri Lankan army with their deployment to Mali.

“On arrival, our team engaged with the army logisticians as well as the local shipping agents. Large deployments like this involve a lot of careful planning and management, and we were able to quickly devise a plan to enable efficient loading and documentation of all vehicles and containers, including the handling of a significant amount of Dangerous Goods “, said Procharter Director Steve Day.

Maj Thusitha Dewapriya, from the Directorate of Operations, said

We are extremely grateful for the support from Procharter, their experience of these types of operations was clear to see, and the expert guidance and training provided to our teams was welcomed and appreciated by all.

General Information: The United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) was established by Security Council resolution 2100 of 25 April 2013 to support political processes in that country and carry out a number of security-related tasks.  The Mission was asked to support the transitional authorities of Mali in the stabilization of the country and implementation of the transitional roadmap.

By unanimously adopting resolution 2164 of 25 June 2014, the Council further decided that the Mission should focus on duties, such as ensuring security, stabilization and protection of civilians; supporting national political dialogue and reconciliation; and assisting the reestablishment of State authority, the rebuilding of the security sector, and the promotion and protection of human rights in that country. – United Nations

All In a day’s work for ProCharter

AN-12 Photo: ProCharter © 2015

ProCharter was approached by a key client and leading multinational plc to move time-critical supplies to a remote site location. Due to the nature of the consignment of life-critical supplies, it had top priority and needed an urgent airlift solution. The delivery location being both hostile and remote would only be available for a short ‘daylight’ time frame which would make normal airlift and ground turn-around times impossible to meet.

ProCharter, rising to the very difficult task in hand and utilizing our highly experienced ‘ex-military’ team established that we could only operate to such tight schedules by employing a tried and tested military method of an ERO (engine running offload). To make this solution viable and to ensure operational integrity Procharter sourced specialized loading equipment and worked tirelessly over a 10 day period to get the correct clearances and ‘buy-in’ from the key stakeholders to put the plan into operation.

Utilizing the correct aircraft, configured internally to allow the rapid extraction of 15 tonnes of cargo was key and working with one of our main suppliers and employing our ‘in-house’ specialist knowledge to the task allowed 10-minute ‘turn arounds’ to become operationally attainable. During the entire process, the commercial requirements ran side by side with the tough operational detail and despite such strict ‘mission-critical’ obligations, Procharter was able to ensure the solution met both our client’s operational requirements and commercial budget.  The proving flights launched and operated to the planned tight schedule, the proof of concept has now been accepted and we continue to operate weekly flights.

Commenting on this, Robbie Collins, Procharter Operations Manager

The Operations team worked extremely hard on the planning and preparation for this project. From our extensive military experience operating in hostile and austere locations, we know how important it is to be able to be resupplied by air, and these missions provide much needed life support as well as a morale boost.

Adding to this, Steve Day, Procharter Regional Director

Being able to plan and execute such highly complex and challenging missions, and receive laudatory praise from our client and end user, is testamount to the calibre of staff we have on board, striving to achieve operational excellence in extremely challenging circumstances and environments.

Our ethos of ‘customer first excellence always’ is clear to see so if you have a specialist airlift requirement, passenger or cargo, please get in-touch today.

Nepal aid logistics challenges continue

Mike King reporting from Kathmandu | Published Thursday, 07 May 2015 by Lloyds Loading List

… Dean Dawson, Aviation Manager for ProCharter, said obtaining a permit had become harder in recent days. “The agency that’s receiving the cargo now has to be provided with a huge amount of detail about the cargo and the aircraft,” he said. “It’s a far lengthier process to get approval.”

“We’re bringing cargo in for the International Red Cross and World Food Programme. So this is delaying the arrival of their relief supplies.”

“Getting cargo trucked here is very difficult, but once the monsoon season starts it will get even worse. So it’s absolutely vital to get supplies in as soon as possible.”
